Advantages of Artnet or why you should use artnet-receiver for uDMX:
Artnet is a network protocol to transfer DMX data over the ip network. Thus it is possible to transfer DMX data with wireless lan.
Most DMX-Software are able to output DMX-data to Art-Net. So it is not necesary to have a plugin for each program. uDMX can even be used with programs where there is no plugin.

Important: If you experience problems receiving Artnet or ACN data, be sure that the firewall allows traffic from and to all interfaces for ports 6454 (UDP) and 5568 (UDP). The firewall even has to be opened, if data is transferred locally from one interface to another.
Network traffic - artnet and ACN - can perfectly be analysed with Wireshark.
